I) PAMPA HUMEDA

Central area around Buenos Aires, about 600 kms. from East to West, and 1,000 kms. from North to South, which is fully developed, with more than 200,000 farm and ranch owners, outside the urban areas. This is a geographical zone of mostly flat land, good soils, well distributed rainfall, with a mild Southern Hemisphere climate similar to New Zealand, an average yearly temperature of 15 degrees Centigrade, and some light frosts during the winter months, allowing two crops per year on the same land, such as soya, directly drilled over wheat stubble, and prairie grazing cattle all year round, on natural pastures for breeding and implanted pastures for fattening zone covers an area of approximately 550,000 km2 (55 million hectares), roughly the size of France (543,965 km2), and is composed by the Provinces of Buenos Aires, East of La Pampa, South of Santa Fé, Cordoba & Entre Rios. Without doubt this is Argentina's Prime Agricultural region, producing most of Country's wheat, corn, soya, sunflower, and barley. Dairy Farming is also important, and so is beef production.

The yearly rainfall runs from 48 inches in the North East down to 30 inches in the South West. It is also the most densely populated area, with 18,000,000 inhabitants not counting the city of Buenos Aires (another 6,000,000 inhabitants). The total population of the country is 36,000,000 inhabitants. The tourist area is mostly concentrated on the sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast in the Province of Buenos Aires, and many ranches that cater for the city population that want to commune with nature; horse riding, cattle rounding up, bird watching, etc. These activities add to the normal income of the ranch.
Estate situated in the South East of the Province of Buenos Aires. Good park and homestead, on the seaside close to Monte Hermoso (Miles knows the area), unspoilt area, with clean sand, and good fishing. It also has a Golf Course beside the property. The land is used for cattle breeding and is also apt for forestry (pines and eucalyptus) and olive plantations. In this zone the land is today worth (2008) between 2,000 USD upto $ 12,000 USD per hectare.
